I have several degrees through the upper levels. Physically very good condition, 5'10" weight 155, content except need to get America straightened out, support OBAMA 100%, felt the military too important, loved Eisenhower, was his bodyguard in WWII for six months, know politics and politicians very very well, am a writer of 2000 published short stories, 10 novels and books of poetry, 150 textbooks, 43 childrens books, have great wife who writes is 16 years my junior, have 6 children, 3 extended children, 5 grandchldren, three greatgrandchildren. I write TWO stories per day and am published in a Media General column for twenty years, still appearing.
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:

A place to exchange ideas and correct the misconceptions of the lesser educated. Would like better organized topics listed for writing or reaction and less confusing orgnization of website. Suggestion:
under WRITING a list of topics, perhaps 20 or so, not just areas of interest but specific topics for writing and THEN comments etc. afterward.

Satchmo, chopin, Grieg, some real country, but not the pretend and affected

Faulkner, Gresham, Martha Grimes, all other major mystery people, with Rex Stout the best., Find no or very few serious writers...Weber of Virginia best political writer.
Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres:

All favorite movies except Forest Gump are in the fifties
Favorite TV Shows, Actors:

I don't watch any TV SHOWS as all of them are badly done, too violent, or puerile. They would take my rading time(a book a day)
Favorite Places:

Virginia in early fall in the mountains, PARIS in off season, small towns in ENGLAND, country places in IRELAND, Brittany on the French coast, FLORIDA near Tampa and St. Pete
Interests and Activities:

Sailing, antique cars, traveling abroad, writing, active democratic politics, medicine, etc. Piano, photos, painting and sculpting, etc.SERIOUS interest in demilitarization of the U.S. as we approach the reflection of a German culture
Wish List:

That all in the world would eat. That we would create a little packet of combined foods that would sustain health in the exploited nations and especially Africa

WE should have TOTAL focus on self-learning materials from about age 3 upward hrough doctoral levels
